Prague Fringe - the 21st and last?

Help us survive into 2023 and beyond. A note from the Director.

A note from the Director:

It has been in incredibly challenging two years for all of us.

For us here at Prague Fringe too.

Bluntly put, the 21st year of Prague Fringe may well be the last.

We have worked hard over the last two decades to bring a quality, fun event to you which had blossomed into an extremely well attended, globally recognised and highly praised festival both here in the Czech republic as well as across the world. We carried on bravely during the pandemic and created some unique events - the Fringe hug from near and far was palpable.

Our upcoming September Fringe will be an exciting and vibrant one, with a multi award-winning programme we expect sales will be strong. Going forward into 2023 is the challenge. With the loss of a major partner at the start of the year it shook the foundations of the organisation quite significantly.

We are urging our biggest fans (that's you!) to consider becoming Friends, Best Friends, or Fringe Angels to help us keep our Fringe alive and carry forward into 2023.

Full information in the article below.

Best regards and long live Fringe!

Become a Friend of the Fringe and earn great benefits (and help us survive for another year).

In just a few short weeks we'll be launching the 21st edition of our festival!

Despite the struggles caused by the pandemic and its after-effects, and losing a significant funding partner at short notice, we are still here and are determined to continue to deliver our very special Fringe to you this year, and next year and for the next 21 years after that!

In order to do this, we need your help to cover a gap in the budget of 200,000 Kč (€8,000) caused by the loss of our major funding partner at the start of 2022.

For our festival (which operates on a very tight, limited budget which has been squeezed even further this year by Covid) this figure equates to around a fifth of our overall annual expenditure and it's what will enable us to run again in 2023.

We have adapted our Friends of the Fringe scheme to provide you, our wonderful followers with some really amazing exclusive benefits and easy ways to show your support and help us to reach our target starting at just 2,100 Kč (approx €85). You can also become a Best Friend with a donation of 5,000 Kč (200 EUR) or more, or a Fringe Angel with a donation of 10,000 Kč (400 EUR) or more.

When you purchase your Friends of the Fringe membership you'll be sent a complimentary Fringe Pass which gives you access to 5 shows at this year's Fringe absolutely free of charge.  You will also be given priority access to the venues which means you can choose the best seats in the house, and you'll be given discounts at various bars and cafes in the Fringe Zone during the festival.

If you're not able to come to Prague in September, you can still become a Friend and show your support from afar and help us to make sure we can put on a Fringe for you to enjoy in 2023.

Please check out the details and grab your membership here

We know this is a difficult time for everyone financially, and we thank you all in advance for any support you are able to give.

Tickets are on sale now and selling fast! Don't forget to browse the programme and get your shows booked as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

See you soon!
