Open Call - New Czech Theatre

Apply to perform at Prague Fringe Reimagined, sharing the best of new Czech theatre with the world.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for Prague Fringe Reimagined, a five day festival of the best of new Czech theatre.

From Tuesday 24th - Saturday 28th November we will present between 5 - 10 of the best new productions the Czech Republic has to offer in a venue in the centre of Prague. The performances will be filmed and streamed live in high quality via our website, and projected in venues around the world. We hope to also offer tickets for a small live audience for each show (restrictions permitting).

Who can apply:

Professional theatre makers who have Czech nationality.
(In cases where the nationality of the theatre company members is mixed, the majority of members must be of Czech nationality, and the show origin must be the Czech Republic.)

What are we looking for:

  • Work created in the Czech Republic by Czech theatre makers

  • Theatre in Czech or English (with subtitles or ability to add them) or non-verbal/without language.

  • New work, e.g. created in the past 2 years and/or performed less than 10 times (or ‘old’ existing work with new elements - e.g. post show discussion/webinar/interactive elements etc.)

  • Work which is flexible in terms of venue and technical resources - e.g. could be performed in any space and with minimal technical equipment.

  • Work which explores socio-political themes and challenging subject matter (eg LGBTQ, equality, immigration etc)

  • Non-traditional theatre

  • Work that might appeal to our international audience
