It’s Prague Fringe Planning Time

created by Auburn Scallon |

Prague Fringe takes the stage in about six weeks(!) and we can’t wait. Now is the perfect time to start planning in order to make the most of your week – get to know the shows and venues, start reserving your seats, and think about where to lay your head each night when the fun is done.

Prague Fringe takes the stage in about six weeks(!) and we can’t wait. Now is the perfect time to start planning in order to make the most of your week – get to know the shows and venues, start reserving your seats, and think about where to lay your head each night when the fun is done.

What’s On?

This year’s programme consists of 50+ shows across multiple genres – theatre, comedy, music, spoken-word and cabaret performances. So how do you choose?

The programme is organised by date, but you can also use the search function (scroll down on the left side of the page) to sort by venue, genre, language level, family-friendliness, or choose by nationality from the twenty-four countries of performers represented this year.

A My Fringe account helps you to keep organised without scribbling notes in the margins of a paper programme (unless you like going old school – we’re not ones to judge!). As you’re browsing online, just click the heart in the top corner of any show to add it to your list of favourites.

You can also use My Calendar to make sure you’re not overbooked on any given night.

Book Early and Save Money!

Once you’ve found your faves, now is a great time to start booking your must-see shows. We know, flexibility and spontaneity are great attributes, but with such intimate venues many of the most popular shows sell out fast. Advance tickets give you a guaranteed seat at a reduced price. You'll find a link to buy tickets within each show listing.

Planning ahead can save you even more by investing in a Wonder Pass before April 30th. We’ve improved the process this year, allowing Wonder Pass holders to use this option to book online in advance as well as securing the best price.

Wonder Pass: 900 CZK (6 shows at 150 CZK)
Advance Tickets: 170 CZK / students & children 120 CZK
Tickets at the door: 200 CZK / students & children 150 CZK

Learn the Landscape

The cobblestoned streets of Malá Strana hold an incredible variety of performance spaces, from underground caves to trendy bars and traditional theatre settings. The venue descriptions give you a sense of atmosphere plus the nearest tram or metro stop to plan your journey.

Take some time to familiarise yourself with the layout of the area as you plan your schedule. All of the venues are within easy walking distance, but a glance at the map can help you avoid racing between opposite ends of the neighbourhood with fifteen minutes between shows.

Book a Bed // Where to Lay Your Head

We love that our audiences come from all over the world to experience the fun of Fringe in Prague. To ensure that our friends are in good hands, we’ve teamed up with some of Prague’s top hotels and apartments, many of whom are generously housing our Fringe staff. Check out our list of accommodation recommendations and reserve your room at a great rate. You’ll even find a few discount codes that work year round in the likely event that Prague captures your heart the way it has ours and you want to return later in the year.
